What is Smart Steps?
Smart Steps is a unique quit smoking program designed specifically for workplaces across Canada. Throughout the program, participants have discussions about quitting including topics such as:
- nicotine withdrawal,
- weight gain,
- coping mechanisms,
- quit smoking medications,
- personalized quit plans
- and much more.
Why host a quit smoking program in the workplace?
Everyone benefits from a work environment that fosters healthy living, including a smoke-free life. Organizations will see:
- Improved employee health
- Improved productivity
- Reduced costs
- Enhanced job satisfaction
- Better corporate image
Organizations can save an estimated $3,396 each year for every employee that becomes tobacco-free. This cost savings is attributed to decreased absenteeism, increased productivity, lower insurance premiums, and reduced smoking area costs.
